Chubby Checker achieved international success with his recording of Hank Ballard's "The Twist" which topped the Billboard chart
twice. It's been reported that Dick Clark suggested that Danny and the Juniors record the song but Cameo Parkway Records decided
on Chubby. He later recorded "The Fly,"
written by Madara and White who brought thier own produced version of "The Fly" by Carl
and the Commanders to Cameo, who told Madara and White that they would like to use their musical track and put Chubby's
vocal on it. If not , they would write their own "Fly" and release it. Madara and White aquiesced and Chubby's version rose to #7
on the Billboard chart. Chubby continues to tour around the world.
